Knowledge is Power: Super Heroes!By Sean Flynn Knowledge is Power: Super Heroes! Is a fun, entertaining learning tool for your children that helps with schoolwork or as we here at KIP like to call it an Edu-RPG (educational role-playing game). As concerned and responsible parents we often agonize about the ways we can help our children become more successful at school. Wouldn’t it be nice to do something with our kids that not only improves their schoolwork but is also fun for both you and your children to do? Well now there is! With Knowledge is Power: Super Heroes! But how can this be? I hear you cry in your most dramatic voice as you strike a heroic pose. Well amazingly simply. Knowledge is Power: Super Heroes! Combines the fun of play acting and make believe with the necessity of answering questions to resolve actions. There is no need for dice in this game, in fact all that is necessary is you and your child's imagination and their ability to answer questions. Everything else is provided for a truly enjoyable and educational time with your children. For as they act out their super fantasies of saving the world with their superpowers they will also be learning! For in this game, Knowledge is Power!Included in Knowledge is Power: Super Heroes! Are all the rules to play the game and the Super Campaign. You can also purchase preprepared questions when they are available but any questions can be used depending on what area of learning you want your child to revise or concentrate on. General knowledge questions can also be used to allow the adults in the group to get in on the fun. The Knowledge is Power SystemKnowledge is Power: Super Heroes! Is an Edu-RPG which has at its heart the concept that the random generator that decides the outcome of any difficult action is not the usual random dice but the correct answering of questions. For a player to succeed in an action for example ‘punching the bad guy’, the player must correctly answer a question. Correctly answering the question means that the players action is successful so the enemy would be hit! Incorrectly answering the question would result in a failure and in that case the player would miss. That is in essence the basic engine of the game. Since players want to do a lot of things they will answer a lot of questions and since there is a limit to how many questions a given subject can have, your children will be learning by the repetition of them and the desire to answer them correctly to progress in the game. Not only will they over time succeed in the game but also their knowledge and confidence in a subject will grow. They will learn for example that the most fiendish villain can be defeated by the power of Maths or if you prefer Physics or indeed English. The choice is very much yours.
